The original message, kept below, has been updated. What immediately follows is the latest from WCPA-NJ as of July 1, 2026

Final details are in for July 4th at Washington Crossing State Park:

  • At 9 AM, Park Naturalist Joe Moore will lead a 4th of July Hike on Continental Lane.

  • The Titusville 4th of July parade will be taking place on River Drive from 10am-1:30pm. Click for the full schedule!

  • THERE WILL BE NO SNEAK PEEK OF THE NEW MUSEUM’S INTERIOR. Park staff will feature Living History Demonstrations outside of the Museum and the Johnson Ferry House from 1-4pm, with readings of the Declaration of Independence and activities for all ages. These will all take place on the grounds around the museum…we’re sorry to report that visitors will not be invited into the building just yet.

  • The Blawenburg Band will perform at the new Museum’s outdoor amphitheater from 8-9:15pm.

  • Washington Crossing Bridge will CLOSE to all vehicular traffic from 6-11pm.

  • The bridge will then be CLOSED to pedestrians from 8-10pm. Firework viewers will need to be on their “side” by 8pm.

  • Thanks to a sponsorship from Mrs. G’s, Washington Crossing State Park will provide free parking (with parking police and shuttle busses) for Pennsylvania’s Friends of Washington Crossing Historic Park’s Fireworks Display over the Delaware at 9:15pm (weather permitting). They’ll be shooting from a barge in the middle of the river, with fantastic views in every direction!

  • Enter at the Park’s main entrance on Washington Crossing-Pennington Road. (There will be no parking along the Delaware River portion of the Park.)

  • The producers of The Crossing: A Revolutionary New Musical is offering a limited number of gratis tickets to join them in commemorating the Declaration of Independence Weekend in America 250! They have performances tomorrow at 7 PM, then on Friday at 3 PM. They will be at the Mill Hill Playhouse, 205 E. Front St., Trenton, NJ 08611.
